Students who wanted an immersion experience chose day-long sessions such as Digital Photography 101, InDesign from A to Z, and Headlining Your Staff. Others chose three hour-long sessions from a list of topics and learned a wide range of information in one day.

The annual workshop, sponsored by the Ohio Scholastic Media Association and Otterbein’s Department of Communication, featured several sessions taught by Columbus Dispatch journalists and Otterbein faculty.

“This event showed high school students what Otterbein’s journalism and media communication program does best: provide professional-level, hands-on experiences using industry-standard technology” said Dr. Jean Kelly, Assistant Professor, one of the event organizers.
