Organization Spotlight: WOBN

Standard

WOBN is a student-run radio station in the Department of Communication that has been on-air since 1948. The station broadcasts live 17 hours a day during Otterbein’s academic year. It features a contemporary music format, Otterbein sports and Westerville area news and public affairs. WOBN currently features 12 student, faculty and staff DJs.

“WOBN has been around for over 50 years, and I’m proud of that. A common misconception is that WOBN is all play and no work, but the fact is is that we do a great many events around campus for various organizations, and our sports department always knocks it out of the park on game-day. We work hard and we play hard. WOBN is a place where you get hands-on experience with real radio equipment and a chance to be a DJ. It’s a worthwhile experience for anyone of any major.” – Bradley Carroll, General Manager
