This past week members of the Tan and Cardinal newspaper and WOBN took a road trip to Louisville, Kent. for the APC/CMA National College Media Convention. I think I’m speaking for everyone who went, when I say that we had so much fun! We able to attend sessions given by professionals in journalism and broadcasting about current media trends, ways to stand out in a tough job market, tips on producing better newspapers, and positive use to social media tools, just to mention a few! We had the opportunity to learn so much and have a great time along the way.
I’m so glad that the Otterbein Communication Department provides us with such great opportunities like this. We learn so much in the class room, but attending conventions like this one, meeting professionals from all over the U.S. and learning new things that we can apply to our media on campus is a great way to broaden our horizons and think outside of the box.
The 2011 college media convention will be in New York City in March. Times Square, here we come!
